Texans at Patriots

After their season ended at Gillette Stadium in the playoffs, the Texans look to prove that they are a completely
different team with J.J. Watt back in the fold. Meanwhile, the Patriots could have a star of their own returning
in tight end Rob Gronkowski to face the Texans’ vaunted D.

The New England Patriots will return to Gillette Stadium this week when they face the Houston Texans. The
Patriots and Texans spent two days conducting joint practice sessions at the Texans summer training camp
facility at The Greenbrier in West Virgina prior to facing each other in the Week 2 preseason game at NRG Stadium.

It’s all pointing to the Patriots as they’ve also rattled off an 18-6-3 ATS mark in their last 27 home games and
they’re also 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite. These trends favoring New England are getting a little
out of hand and, as a result, they’ll likely be a popular bet in Week 3.

The total for the game is on the low side, especially for a Patriots game, at 43.5 points. New England is currently
on a six-game OVER streak, with those games seeing an average combined score of 56.5. In their AFC divisional
game matchup last season, the teams combined for 50 points, but the Texans offense has been inept this
season, scoring just 20 total points in two games.

2017 marks the second season in a row that the Patriots and Texans will pay two times in a season. Last year,
the Patriots faced Houston in a Thursday Night game at Gillette Stadium on Sept. 22 and won, 27-0. The two
teams met at Gillette Stadium in a 2016 AFC Divisional Playoff Game with the Patriots advancing to the AFC
Championship after a 34-16 victory. The Patriots and Texans will be playing in the regular season for the
third straight season. The Patriots won 27-6 in 2015 and 27-0 in 2016.

they’re also 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite. These trends favoring New England are getting a little

The Los Angeles Rams come into this game with a 1-1 record, and they have looked like so far they could
be a little better then most people expected.

In week one they dominated the short handed Indianapolis Colts on the way to a 46-9 victory. Jared Goff
looked like he deserved to be taken with the number one pick, and everyone was very excited.

In week two they ended up losing to the Washington Redskins by a final score 27-20, but they stilllooked
good, and Jared Goff looked good for the most part.

He did throw a pick though in their final possession that sealed the victory for the Redskins. He looked
down one receiver the entire possession and it was an easy ball for the Redskins to pick off.

NFL – Lions vs Giants Sept. 18, 2017 – ESPN

Giants will open their 2017 home schedule playing host to the Detroit Lions on Monday night,
while also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Super Bowl XLII championship team during
halftime of the game.

The 2017 Giants (0-1) could use a little magic from that group after laying a major dud last week at
Dallas. The New York offense, which was mostly revamped in the off-season with the additions of
receiver Brandon Marshall, tight ends Rhett Ellison and Evan Engram, and the promotion of Paul Perkins
to starting running back, couldn’t get out of its own way against a Cowboys defensive front that had
its way against the returning five starting Giants offensive linemen.

NFL - Lions vs Giants Sept. 18, 2017 - ESPN

“First game,” Giants quarterback Eli Manning said Wednesday. “Guys were playing fast, got some good
guys out there, some new bodies. So, we’ll bounce back. We’ll be fine. We just have to slow down,
everybody take a breath and just run the plays the way we’ve been running them all spring and all
summer.”

“They’re going to do their job,” he said. “Everybody just needs to step up their game a little bit and,
again, we don’t have to go recreate anything. We just have to execute, play better football.”

The absence of Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) didn’t help the Giants offense any.
It is unclear if he will play this week, either.

That might be easier said than done against a Lions team that is coming off an impressive 35-23 win
over Arizona last week, a win in which quarterback Matthew Stafford rallied Detroit from a 17-9
third-quarter deficit to score 19 unanswered points to go along with a 35-yard pick-6 by safety
Miles Kilbrew that helped seal the win.
